Brides of Austin Photo Shoot
It was a cold rainy day last December when we showed up at the newly renovated Line Hotel in Austin and started setting up for what was going to be an absolutely stunning photoshoot! The rain did not stop us. I have been so excited to share this with everyone. For starters, it was my very first photoshoot as a member of the Touch of Whimsy team, and secondly, it was so beautiful. As an Austin wedding planner you just what venue you’ll end up next and this one did not disappoint.
The Line Austin
If you haven’t been to the boutique hotel, The Line Austin, then you must. Just walk in and check it out. It’s kind of like… a breath of fresh air. Of course, it has all the hipster vibes that come with Austin, but it is unique in every way you can imagine. (I’m kind of a sucker for fun unique spots around the cities). Imagine a section of the lobby with what appears to be your average gold plant hangers…look a little closer and you will notice that they are actually in the shape of a shotgun shell. Crazy right?
We got to use their venue on the 6th floor overlooking Town Lake called P6. It was originally the sixth floor of the parking garage from the original hotel. The indoor space was very stylish with fun chairs and tables with a boho, coastal vibe. Once you think you’ve seen everything…you turn the corner and there was a whole lounge area covered in stunning blue and green floral wallpaper. The patio was probably my favorite part with cute furniture and pink flag garland hung overhead with views for days. Overall the venue was perfect and the staff was very accomodating!
The Floral Design
Kelsea had come up with the idea to create a wildflower inspired centerpiece. It looked as if the flowers were growing straight out of the table. Mission accomplished! We wanted to go for both a floral earthy vibe, but at the same time create a look that gave off a soft, beachy look. We threw in a few shells and starfish to create that subtle ode to the beach. Kelsea even used a couple of her grandmother’s vintage, colored glass vases to bring the look together.
