– A note from a planner

Hey there! We are just coming off a great wedding weekend with some amazing weather, beautiful brides and gorgeous venues! (there isn’t much more to ask for in Texas) I took note of a couple of things over the weekend and just wanted to share, so let’s talk about how to pack your wedding decorations.

Okay, so while elbows deep in decoration boxes this weekend a thought struck me. “This set up is going up like a breeze!” Seriously it was, we all worked so great moving from one focal point to another with the bride’s decor and all while getting our decorations done too. And why you may ask? The bride had pre-packed everything with labels and how-tos!

I try not to get overly excited about these things, you know, the kind of excited that people start to think you may be a tad crazy, but guys…. this gets me going! It is so INCREDIBLY helpful. It makes things very easy for us, not only with set up but also tear down, and added bonus, brides don’t have to stress.  It’s super simple and while it takes a little more time on the back end it definitely helps later. This goes for any and all decorations the bride and groom, or family has purchased for the ceremony site and/or the reception. Some brides like to buy all decorations themselves others may just want a few things specific for the head table or maybe sign-in table, this is when the labels come in most handy! We are here to make things look and go exactly how you had dreamed so every little thing helps.

It’s time to pack your wedding decorations.

Step One

Buy bins! Big ones, rolly ones, clear ones, it really doesn’t matter what kind but the bins definitely help. Boxes work fine too but can be worn down and hard to pack later when your family is ready to go. Click here to find the perfect bins for the job.

Step Two

Pack! The best way to do this is in “areas”. For example, back everything for the Sign-In table in one or two boxes. As you put items into the box, write them down on a spreadsheet. That way you and your planner can easily find each piece. This also serves as a checklist when we are unpacking and repacking the decor. Make sure to wrap things carefully, its the worst to open a box and find broken pieces. Try not to overfill a box, and makes sure ll decorations for the specific table or spot are in the one box together.

Step Three

Lable! Lable till your heart can’t take it anymore. this is the suer helpful part, and we will love you

 forever! If the box of decorations is for the head table, label it somewhere on the outside ‘HEAD TABLE’. Then under the lid, you can add more directions like, put “Mr and Mrs’ sign in the middle of the table. Then it’s exactly the way you wanted it!
