Hope everyone is having a fantastic February. We all deserve it! Can you believe it was this time last year we were starting to hear about Covid!?!?!? Crazy!  So far things are going pretty well for us. We saw all kinds of beautiful faces at the shows and open houses. If we haven’t gotten to meet you yet we hope to do so soon! Speaking of meeting new people, today I would like to introduce you to our newest wedding coordinator and venue manager, Kayleigh. She will be taking on lots of weddings like me and Sophie but also manage Oakfire Ridge. (If you haven’t visited this amazing venue you should) I have had the pleasure of getting to know her over the last month and it’s been a hoot! She’s not from Texas so I’ve had a blast teaching her all of our Texas lingo. But I’ll let her tell you more about herself.

If you haven’t met me (Cheyanne), Kelsea the owner, or Sophie (wedding coordinator), check out our blog post here!

Kayleigh Fehsenfeld-Swartz

Hi There, I am thrilled to be a part of the Touch of Whimsy Family! I truly believe I have found my passion in planning weddings and I am excited about this new opportunity.

I’ve always been in the hospitality industry and have known I wanted to plan events since I was in high school. I attended Grand Valley State University and graduated in three years with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a Minor in Business. Two months after graduating I moved to Oahu, Hawaii, and absolutely fell in love with the islands.

Originally being from a small town in Michigan, you can imagine how incredibly different Hawaii was! At first, I definitely experienced some major culture shock but after a few months, I absolutely fell in love with the food, the outdoors, and especially the culture and people.

I planned weddings and elopements on five of the eight Hawaiian islands for couples from all over the world. I also worked for a luxury floral design company to expand my event planning knowledge. The islands were a wonderful place to learn how to plan luxury weddings and I’m so grateful for the experience.

My typical days off consisted of hiking to the top of mountains or the base of waterfalls or going to the beach with my island sidekick, my dog, Herman Kai, and my husband, Joseph. On special occasions, I would go rock climbing, scuba diving, or boating to the Sandbar in Kaneohe.

Joseph and I moved to Texas at the very end of December 2020. We are happy to be back on the mainland and closer to family and can’t wait to explore Texas.

Other things about me: I love to travel and can’t wait to plan my next destination – Joe and I are thinking of France or Italy for our postponed honeymoon. Joseph and I elopement in 2020 on the top of a mountain. We hiked up in the dark, changed into our wedding clothes, and exchanged vows just after sunrise. It was perfect for us.

I prefer books over television, but I can be convinced to binge on Netflix if the show peeks my interest. I am a total dog person, my fur baby, Herman, passed in October, so if there’s a dog within half a mile of me there is a very good chance I’m going to pet him/her. I love wine and always appreciate a nice craft cocktail. I much prefer being outside to inside (when the temperature is over 65degrees!). I’m definitely a Chatty Cathy, but I’m also a great listener. I hope to meet you in the future to get to know about you too!

With Love,

Kayleigh Fehsenfeld-Swartz
