We all know how stressful it is to pick out what to wear to your engagement photo session… I mean, you are going to have these pictures forever and want them to look perfect! These might be the engagement pictures you’re taking for your Save-the-Dates, or maybe even to display at your wedding reception! AHHH! Here are a few tips that might help you out and relieve those photoshoot jitters:

#1. Bring multiple outfits

Bring at least two outfits! Or, depending on how long your shoot is, bring three! You might like one better than the other in pictures, or one might go better with the style of your paper products for your Save-the-Dates or reception photos.

#2. Don’t be too matchy-matchy

Don’t wear the same exact colors as your fiancé! However, for example, if you have a solid blue dress and his shirt is patterned with a coordinating blue (+ other colors), that’s fine! Here is a chart we made to help you pick out what colors will go best together in pictures:

#3. Consider your location

Not only do you have to consider the colors you’re wearing, but also consider the background or the place you are taking pictures at! Neutral colors look best in a natural setting, such as a beach, gorgeous lake or pond, pretty green field, or a colorful field of wildflowers. Also, if you’re taking pictures in the city or a downtown area, know the colors of the buildings nearby so you don’t end up clashing or being a ‘floating head’!
