San Antonio Wedding Planner | Guide to Styled Shoots

Education

So I am sitting at Starbucks today watching the rain come down, and prepping for our styled Photoshoot tomorrow at Rockin B Ranch in Boerne. I’ve got my Green tea in one hand and my handy planner in the other. (Yes, I am one of those crazy people with a color coordinated planner complete with stickers…Thanks Plum Paper) 🙂 For the life of me, I could not think of anything to blog about. Then I thought to myself…why don’t I just take you all behind the scenes of a San Antonio Wedding Planner? So I am going to pull back the curtain and show you a little bit about how we create some fun inspiration for our brides! Be sure to check out more of our portfolio on Pinterest!

The Low Down – Wedding Planners Guide to Styled Shoots

The key to any good styled shoot is to make it look real! After all, the whole point is to create beautiful inspiration for brides and to show you what we can do. Here are a few Pro Tips to look for!

Pro Tip 1: Look for a Wedding Party

If you see wedding photos with no wedding party and just the bride and groom…beware it may be a styled shoot! That is why we added some beautiful friends to this styled shoot at The Chandelier of Gruene in New Braunfels.

Pro Tip 2: Hire a Great Hair + Make-Up Team

Hair and make-up are critical to the outcome of a great styled shoot. You have to have the perfect look to complete the bridal look. Shout out! We love working with gorgeous ladies at Knot and Veil. They are such a blessing to have on big day. Straight eye-liner (check), perfectly swept bangs (check), effortless bridal glow (check)!

Pro Tip 3: Find Fun Vendors to Work With

We work a lot…like a whole lot lol. However, we like to have fun at work. You only live once after all. Choosing a great team to execute your vision is vital to the shoots success. Check out our post about how we, as a San Antonio wedding planner, choose the best vendors. Furthermore, there are a couple a key things to look for in vendors:

  1. They have your back. We love building strong relationships that blossom into friendships. When we are down in the wedding trenches we want to know that our vendors are going to be working just as hard. Although things can get crazy with large events, we want to know that our team is their to support everyone involved.
  2. They are FUN! Life is short, so why not live a life you love? All of these crazy vendors worked their booties off all day to create a gorgeous styled shoot with 3 color pallets and 5 set-ups. Feeuuww! However, we might have had a little help from a cocktail or two. 🙂 Live a little haha. Finally, finish the night off with pizza and community. What more do you need?

We love these wonderful vendors. Please be sure to check out their work. It takes a village to create beautiful content and I wouldn’t want to live in any other village 🙂
